Key features
According to Utimaco, the fastest, least impacting hard disk encryption software available Compatible with Rescue & Recovery. However, hardware based encryption is clearly faster such as solutions by Seagate and Hitachi.

History
SafeGuard Easy is the successor of the C:Crypt and Crypton DOS programs, which were the successors of the SafeBoard hardware based encryption boards, which became obsolete after PC CPU's were fast enough to do hard disk encryption in software (80286 and up).
Versions have been available for DOS, Apple (old Mac), OS/2 and all versions of Windows, with the exception of Windows Vista, for which SafeGuard Enterprise has become available.
